Tracking the evolution of internet-distributed television worldwide
The Global Internet TV Consortium is a network of media scholars. Our research explores the impact of internet-distributed television services in specific national markets.
Who we are
Founded in 2016 as a loose network of scholars interested in SVOD (subscription video-on-demand), the Consortium has expanded over the years to include around 30 contributors with diverse expertise in television markets and cultures across North America, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East.
What we do
Consortium members share their findings via online dossiers. Each dossier describes a specific internet-distributed television service and its impact on a national media market. The first phase of our research focused on Netflix. Recently, we have begun adding dossiers on other national and regional services, such as Hotstar and Hulu, as well as national market briefs.
