Juan Llamas Rodriguez

Juan Llamas Rodriguez is assistant professor of transnational media in the School of Arts, Technology, and Emerging Communication at the University of Texas at Dallas. His research focuses on media distribution, digital labor, border studies, and Latin American film and television. His work has been published or is forthcoming in Feminist Media Histories, Film Quarterly, Jump Cut, and Cinema Journal. His current book project, Trafficking Tunnels and the Infrastructures of the Border, examines how fictional media and digital technologies shape the popular conception of illicit underground tunnels and, subsequently, the dis/ordering of transnational borders.
