Lydia Papadimitriou

Lydia Papadimitriou is Reader (Associate Professor) in Film Studies at Liverpool John Moores University. She has published extensively on different aspects of Greek cinema, as well as on documentary, film festivals, Balkan cinema and film distribution. She is the author of The Greek Film Musical (2006), co-editor (with Yannis Tzioumakis) of Greek Cinema: Texts, Forms and Identities (2011), and the Principal Editor of the Journal of Greek Media and Culture (JGMC). She has co-edited the special issues ‘Film Festivals: Origins and Trajectories’ for New Review of Film and Television Studies and ‘Contemporary Greek Film Cultures: Weird Wave and Beyond’ for the JGMC (both 2016). Her article ‘Film Distribution in Greece: Formal and Informal Networks of Circulation since the Financial Crisis’ will appear in Screen in 2018.
