Yu-Kei Tse

Yu-Kei Tse is an early career researcher who received her doctoral degree in Media and Communications from Goldsmiths, University of London. Her research interests include audience studies, media studies, digital media, transnational cultural flows, and East Asian popular culture, with a focus on Taiwan and Japan. Her work on television’s changing role in social togetherness can be found in New Media & Society (2016). Her latest research project examines the implications of Netflix’s algorithm-driven infrastructure and strategies for the sociality of television experience. She is the author of an award-winning book The Great Assembly of Doraemon Collections (in Mandarin, 2002).
